Okiki Podcast Episode 51: Creating a cycle studio at the age of 21 with Hope Mombo
What type of fitness do you love to do? Crossfit? Zumba? Cardio? Did you purchase a peloton bike during the pandemic? Do you love to cycle indoors with an electric bike or go biking outside? I personally love to go biking outside and doing dance. It’s great when fitness doesn’t feel like a chore, but an overall enjoyable wholistic experience. There are so many benefits to fitness, including mental health and that is what motivates me. I personally have never thought of opening a fitness centre or a gym, but my friend Hope Mombo did just that during the pandemic.
Hope grew up in Saskatoon and after high school she took time to work and figure out exactly what she wanted to do next. She worked at a few different places and eventually decided to go to dental hygiene school in Toronto. It was a great learning experience but she didn’t finish. After that she came back to Saskatoon and felt very lost but found a job and waited for her next opportunity. The next summer she opened my spin studio Revolve Cyclehouse and since then she has been running it! It’s been an uphill battle having been hit by covid 6 months into opening but she continued to learn and pivot at every turn.
